A Painter's Tale (Revised)

I knew I needed to revise 'A Painter's Tale' when I couldn't stop laughing at the imagery of the painter swinging the fox's tail as a paint brush.

Here's a revised version of the tale, which goes something like this:

A starving artist ventures out as he does everyday to sell his paintings.
Like every other day, he gets rejected.
Until one day, a gallery owner says she will buy his artist's beret from him.
He sells it to buy some bread, only to encounter a starving dog.
He gives the dog some bread then goes home.
In the middle of the night, the dog shows up at his door and tramples all over his artwork.
In the midst of chaos, a new type of painting emerges.
The artist submits the painting and wins the art prize.
From then on, he works on art pieces with his dog.
